We are recruiting for an Assistant Manager – Waste/Fleet to join East Lindsey District Council, supporting the delivery and development of essential frontline services across waste, fleet and markets.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a varied operational leadership role, supporting the Service Manager – Waste/Fleet with the day-to-day management of the service while helping to shape how services develop and improve. You'll help oversee a busy waste service, including the newly introduced food waste service supporting around 76,000 households across East Lindsey, while providing direction and support to supervisors and operational staff.

The role offers plenty of variety. From supporting staff development, wellbeing and succession planning to reviewing procedures, monitoring performance, managing contractors and identifying opportunities to work more efficiently, you'll have the chance to make a real contribution to how the service operates.

Health and safety will be a key part of the role. You'll help ensure procedures remain effective, compliant and up to date, while promoting safe working practices across the service. You'll also support fleet responsibilities, including covering as Transport Manager when required and helping to manage the operator's licence.

We're looking for someone with organisational skills who can confidently balance operational priorities, support and develop colleagues, and work effectively with a wide range of partners and stakeholders. Experience or knowledge of waste services is valuable, as is experience in managing staff, including training, recruitment, sickness management and wellbeing.
